Professor Tolleson Knee earned a B.A. from The University of Montana, an M.S.W. from Eastern Washington University and a Ph.D. from the University of Denver. Ryan's research interests are in the areas of rural mental health, men's mental health, and social policy. He is the Chair of the School of Social Work and the director of the Montana Child Welfare Training Partnership. Ryan's professional practice experience were in the areas of medical social work, marriage and family counseling, and program develop and administration. He is the former director of the Montana Campus Compact and has written on the topic of service learning in social work education. Ryan has three sons (ages 4-8) and a daughter (age 1). In his spare time he enjoys hiking, biking, and skiing.
