Research & Scholarship
The School hosts three research laboratories dedicated to the pursuit of scholarship. These include the Motor Control Research Laboratory, Movement Science Laboratory, and the Applied Exercise Physiology Research Laboratory. The Applied Exercise Physiology Research Laboratory also houses New Directions, an outreach clinical facility that includes research involving the needs of people with chronic diseases and disabilities from the community. The research programs has included funding from a variety of agencies including the MJ Murdock Charitable Trust Foundation, The National Institutes of Health (NIH), The National Science Foundation, The Montana Space Grant Consortium and The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).
The faculty of the School of Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation Science participates in a wide array of scholarly activities that may include case studies, surveys, clinical and applied human research, as well as many other possibilities. Faculty are encouraged to engage in scholarly activities that meet their individual interests and students are engaged in faculty mentored scholarly activities as part of the DPT curriculum.
