Prospective Student

We are pleased you are considering admission to the School of Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation Science at The University of Montana. Presumably, you have taken the opportunity to read through the information we have provided about a career in physical therapy, choosing a school for your DPT and the DPT curriculum at UM, which includes information about our clinical education program. If you have not yet taken that opportunity, we would strongly recommend you read through this information before entering the application process.

To learn more about the process at UM, begin by reviewing the application requirements that include not just the pre-requisite courses but also important other components to the application. Within this link you will review those items of an application we believe are vital to success in our program and in the profession of physical therapy as well as a profile of successful applicants. Prerequisites are critical to both assess your ability to be successful as well as to prepare you for rigorous study and success in the program, so be sure to have a plan to have them completed prior to entrance in the program as you prepare your application. On occasion applicants cannot complete all of the prerequisites prior to application; we are open to working with you if your overall application is strong and you have the ability to complete the prerequisites prior to enrollment at UM. Also, in some cases you may need to substitute an equivalent course to meet a particular pre-requisite. We have developed a listing of prerequisite course equivalents to assist you; review the current list. Our deadline for completed and submitted applications for the fall of 2008 is Tuesday, January 15, 2008. When you are ready to apply, access our on-line application. When you begin the application process you have the ability to save your work and return at any time to complete the application before submission for consideration.
