Brenda has been the Director of The University of Montana Physical Therapy Clinic for 15 years. She brings 23 years of experience working with professional, collegiate, club and recreational athletes to the clinic which includes Post-surgical Rehabilitation, Performance Enhancement and Strength and Conditioning. Her additional interests include Pediatric/Youth Sports Medicine, Wellness Programming, Administration, and Physical Therapy Academic Education. Brenda teaches Sports Medicine in the Physical Therapy Program.

Initially interested in neurological rehabilitation with completion or residency in Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation. Now, that interest is integrated in orthopedic physical therapy. A personal and professional interest in Yoga and an interest in the mind-body connection are often incorporated into physical therapy treatments.

Clinical Interests or Specialty Areas
She has specialized in women’s health since 1998. Women’s health includes treating musculoskeletal dysfunction in pregnancy, pelvic pain, incontinence, and osteoporosis. She is specifically interested in chronic pelvic pain and its relationship to lumbo-pelvic-hip musculature. She teaches in the School of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Science and serves as one of the Coordinators of Clinical Education. Some of her courses include: Evidence-Based Practice, Movement System Evaluation, Orthopedics and Women’s Health Physical Therapy.

She is Secretary of the Montana Physical Therapy Association; member of APTA (American Physical Therapy Association) women’s health, orthopedic and education sections.

In her free time, Kim enjoys cooking, running, hiking, camping, gardening, cross-country skiing, alpine skiing and Ultimate Frisbee.
