Program Description

IPHARM has three goals:

1. Provide wellness screening to those unable, for any reason, to access such testing
2. Develop a sustainable wellness-testing program for Montana's rural and frontier counties to be community run and managed.
3. Train pharmacy, nursing, social work and physical therapy students in the operation of the wellness screening program and the patient counseling techniques.

IPHARM Mission

The mission of IPHARM is to bring disease screening services to all residents of Montana communities. IPHARM also serves as a model rural ambulatory care practice site for UM health professions students to gain experience in providing direct patient care.

All results collected by IPHARM are confidential and are not directly connected with the client's name. Results are grouped with other responses and cannot be identified individually.

Steps to Setting up an IPHARM Event

1. Contact IPHARM to schedule a mutually agreeable date and to confirm IPHARM's space and utilities requirements.
2. Advertise the event and help schedule appointments for the IPHARM event. IPHARM will do the rest. We can provide ideas for ways of getting the word out for advertising an event. Sample radio ads and newspaper ads are available from IPHARM. Scheduling clients for an event cuts down on wait times and allows time for the IPHARM team to counsel clients thoroughly on their test results.
