HIPAA

HIPAA stands for Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act that was designed in 1996 to protect the privacy rights of individuals. Under this new law, HIPAA requires strict confidentiality between the patient and their provider (ex: pharmacy, doctor's office, or insurance company).
