- How do I get a new prescription filled?
- Present a prescription to the Health Service Pharmacy from a practitioner here at the Curry Health Center (see location) or from an outside provider. You may also have your practitioner phone in the prescription to (406) 243-5171. Please inform the person who assists you in the Health Service Pharmacy if it is your first time filling a prescription here. They will have you fill out a brief information sheet.
- Who can fill prescriptions at the Pharmacy?
- Students taking at least 1 credit can fill prescriptions at the Health Service Pharmacy.
- Do you need to know if I am allergic to any medications?
- Yes, it is extremely important for your safety to inform the pharmacy staff of any allergies that you may have. Also, keeping the pharmacy staff updated on your current medications and herbal supplements can further assure your safety.
- How long will it take to fill my prescription?
- The length of time needed to fill a prescription will vary. There are many processes involved in filling a prescription and there can be many prescriptions being filled besides yours. The pharmacy staff will fill the prescriptions as fast as safety will allow, in the order they are presented. If a problem arises during the filling process, the matter must be resolved before the prescription can leave the pharmacy. Every attempt will be made to keep you informed of any delays.
- Do I need to pay the Curry Health Center Fee?
- No. The Curry Health Center and the Health Service Pharmacy are separate entities; therefore, no fee is needed to pick-up prescriptions at the Health Service Pharmacy. See Curry Health Center for queries about physicians and the Curry Health Center regulations.
- When is the busiest time of day or the time I will have to wait the longest?
- Usually the busiest time of day is between 2:00pm and 5:15pm. Times that are especially busy are Friday afternoons and the days prior to or directly following a vacation. Please remember to call ahead for refills to save yourself time waiting at the pharmacy.
- How can I obtain a refill on a prescription?
- If you have previously filled the prescription at the Health Service Pharmacy and your practitioner authorized refills, you may call the pharmacy at (406) 243-5171 and use the phone mail system or stop by to obtain the prescription refill. Please have your name, birthday and prescription number (located in bold lettering on the upper center part of the prescription label. Example: Rx # 672315). NOTE: Phoning in a prescription will provide you with quicker service. If the prescription was previously filled at another pharmacy and you would like to transfer your refills to the Health Service Pharmacy, call (406) 243-5171 for further directions.
- Can I send someone else to pick up my prescription?
- It is best to pick up first-time prescriptions in person so a pharmacy staff member may discuss the medication with you and answer any of your questions. If it is a refill and it is necessary, please phone the Health Service Pharmacy at (406) 243-5171 and inform the pharmacy staff of the person who will be picking up your prescription. Please ask them to present identification when doing this.
- Do you accept insurance?
- Yes, the Health Service Pharmacy accepts Montana Medicaid and some of the major online pharmacy insurance plans. Negotiations are currently underway for many more insurance plans. Please contact the pharmacy at (406) 243-5171 or bring your pharmacy insurance card to the Health Service Pharmacy to verify your coverage. Most insurance companies require a "co-payment" from the patient. You can contact your benefits coordinator for exact details. NOTE: Please present your insurance card prior to filling the prescription in order to receive your insurance benefits.

- How can I pay for my prescription?
- The Health Service Pharmacy accepts cash, check, UMoney, or Visa, MasterCard, Discover debit or credit cards.
- Do you sell non-prescription medications?
- Yes, we have a small over-the-counter (OTC) section where we provide a variety of items at very competitive prices. Items include: cough & cold remedies, pain and anti-Inflammatory preparations, feminine hygiene, contraceptives, gastro-intestinal remedies, vitamins, herbals, lotions and much more. - How can I speak with a pharmacist?
- A pharmacist is available for ANY questions regarding medication anytime during business hours. The friendly staff of the Health Service Pharmacy can provide readily available information and answers to help you with your medication. This is a free service that pharmacists enjoy providing for people. A clinical care pharmacy specialist is available by appointment for more in depth counseling regarding medication.
- Will my parent be notified about my prescription(s)?
- Filling prescriptions is a confidential agreement between the patient and the pharmacist. The Health Service Pharmacy will NOT disclose any information to anyone who is not authorized by the recipient of the prescription. NOTE: If you are using insurance in your parent(s) name, the policy holder may or may not be contacted by the insurance company.
