Welcome to the Department of Pharmacy Practice!
The Department of Pharmacy Practice also coordinates several distinct services to assist local practitioners and enhance the health of both UM students and Montanans. The Drug Information Service provides prompt and detailed responses to pharmacotherapy related questions for healthcare professionals. Improving Health Among Rural Montanans (IPHARM) serves as a model rural / frontier ambulatory care practice site for pharmacy students and educates healthcare providers in Montana about wellness screening. The Montana Geriatric Education Center (GEC) provides geriatric education and training for health professionals and students. The Health Services Pharmacy offers pharmaceutical care for UM Students and serves as a clinical training site for pharmacy students. The department's Continuing Professional Education program offers current, practice-enhancing professional education programs for pharmacists and other health professionals.
The Department also offers Pharmacy Practice (PGY1) residency positions at Community Medical Center and St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula, Montana.

The NABP e-Profile ID will be required in 2012 to receive credit for any accredited CPE activities from ACPE-accredited providers. The CPE Monitor service, a continuing pharmacy education (CPE) electronic tracking system has launched. This system was developed by NABP and the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) as a service that will provide participating state boards of pharmacy with a streamlined process to verify their licensees' and registrants' compliance with CPE requirements.
