The University of Montana is located in Missoula, a city of 70,000 situated midway between Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks in the mountains and forests of western Montana. Because of its popular setting, mountain streams, and ski slopes, Missoula remains a major center of tourism and is easily reached by interstate highway and airlines. The average high temperature is 21 degrees in January and 84 degrees in July.
