AMERICAN MEDICAL STUDENT ASSOCIATION (AMSA)

AMSA is a student-governed organization committed to representing the concerns of physicians-in-training. AMSA focuses on five priorities: including universal healthcare, disparities in medicine, diversity in medicine, leadership development and transforming the culture of medicine. They offer fellowships for medical students to participate in trainings, including:
- Washington Health Policy Fellowship Program (WHPFP),
a summer program in health and social policy, specifically designed to encourage select medical students' interest in health policy. - 2006 Leadership Training Program
“Learning From Each Other: Cultural Competency in Medicine and Dentistry”
The main goal of this year's LTP is to educate students on the importance of cultural competency in medicine and dentistry. - End of Life Education Fellowship Program
is a six-week summer experience designed to introduce fourteen to sixteen medical students to end of life care issues.
AMERICAN MEDICAL WOMEN'S ASSOCIATION (AMWA)

AMWA is a national organization dedicated to advancing women's health and the careers of woman physicians. They have one scholarship for student members, the Wilhelm-Frankowski Scholarship. This $4,000 medical student scholarship is awarded for community service, activity in women's health issues and participation in AMWA and other women in medicine groups. It is awarded annually to an AMWA student member.

Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Inc. is a national sorority of registered professional nurses and nursing students. Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Inc. awards $50,000.00 annually in scholarships because of its commitment to providing access to quality educational training and financial assistance to nursing students. Scholarship awards occur on the National, Regional and Local Levels.
CHINESE AMERICAN PHYSICIANS SOCIETY (CAPS)
CAPS is offering scholarship(s) of $2000 to $5000 each annually to students in United States medical schools. The CAPS Scholarships are open to all medical students in need of financial aid regardless of their hometown, sex, race or color. The applicants are judged according to their academic achievements, financial needs, community service records and essays. Special credit is also given to those who are willing to serve the Chinese communities after their graduation.

The Japanese Medical Society of America is a group of medical and health care professionals with a knowledge of Japanese language, culture or customs. They offer scholarships to students in nursing or medicine, with an interest in JMSA.

The NHSC offers a competitive scholarship program designed for students committed to providing primary health care in communities of greatest need. Scholarship recipients serve where they are most needed upon completion of their training.
The program offers the following benefits for up to 4 years of education:
- Payment of tuition and fees
- Twelve monthly stipend payments per year of scholarship support
- Payment of other reasonable educational expenses, such as books, supplies, and equipment
- Directly upon completion of your training, you will choose a practice site in a federally designated health professional shortage area identified as having the greatest need. Period of service is 1 year for each year of support you receive, with a 2-year minimum commitment.

The Foundation of the National Student Nurses Association (FNSNA) was created in 1969 to honor Frances Tompkins, the Association's first Executive Director. Organized exclusively for charitable and educational purposes, the Foundation awards scholarships to qualified nursing students.

PISACANO SCHOLARS LEADERSHIP PROGRAM

The Pisacano Scholars Leadership Program offers many career development opportunities, as well as scholarship funding, to the future leaders of family medicine. Third-year medical students are eligible to apply. Only students who demonstrate a strong commitment to the specialty of family medicine will be considered. The maximum scholarship award is $28,000. Recipients are awarded up to $7,000 per year for up to four years.

One of the principle activities and purpose of the trust is to award scholarship grants to worthy students for the pursuit of higher education. Among many others, the foundation administers the S. Evelyn Lewis Memorial Scholarship for a female graduate or undergraduate student enrolled in a degree program in medicine or health sciences.
