Scholarships to assist students in an accredited physician assistant program. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of financial need, academic achievement, extracurricular activities, and future goals as a PA. All applicants must attend an accredited PA Program and be enrolled in the professional phase of their program and must be a student member of the AAPA.

Every year, the American College of Legal Medicine presents a $1000 award in three categories, for outstanding original papers on Legal Medicine. One award goes to a medical student, one to a law student, and one to a student of dentistry, podiatry, nursing, pharmacy, health science, health care administration, or public health.

The American College of Medical Practice Executives (ACMPE) Scholarship Fund Inc. supports and promotes the personal and professional growth of health care leaders to advance the profession of medical practice management. To be eligible for these scholarships, you must be a student enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree course relevant to medical practice management. Awards range from $1000 to $5000.

Scholarships awarded by the ADAF are generally for ADA members enrolled in the junior or senior year of a baccalaureate or coordinated program in dietetics or the second year of study in a dietetic technician program, a dietetic internship program or a graduate program. One application form is used for all ADAF scholarships. The number of scholarships available and their dollar amounts vary from year to year. For the 2005-2006 academic year, 186 scholarships were awarded in amounts ranging from $500 to $5,000.

The Garden Club of America is pleased to announce a fellowship open to Ph.D. candidates and recent Ph.D.s to promote the study of medicinal botany. The fellowship was established to protect and preserve knowledge about the medicinal use of plants, and thus prevent the disappearance of plants with therapeutic potential. Providing this research opportunity for botanists can, in turn, assist medical science in its ability to protect lives, alleviate suffering, and develop new medicines.

Students in the summer program work for 10 weeks doing hands-on cancer research in Eppley Institute laboratories at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. Students get to try research, learn techniques and new concepts, and work with professional researchers, all while earning a competitive summer salary.

Students preparing for careers in medicine, dentistry, nursing, pharmacy, physical or occupational therapy, and medical technologies are eligible to apply. A student must be a U.S. or Canadian citizen, enrolled full time in a school accredited in the field involved and application must be for at least the third year of college. R.N. students must have completed the first year of schooling. Pre-med students are not eligible to apply. For those students seeking degrees of M.D. or D.D.S. application must be for at least the second year of medical or dental school. There is no age limit. Scholarships are for $1000.00.

The ORISE Research Participation Programs at the Center for Disease Control provide college students the opportunity for hands-on participation in research and development, and related technical activities at the CDC. A participant is appointed to a particular CDC office and is given a specific assignment under a mentor.
An applicant for a student appointment must be enrolled in an accredited U.S. college, university, or technical institute, and in an academic program leading to an associate, baccalaureate, or graduate degree. Student applicants should be at least 18 years old and have a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or higher (based on a scale where A = 4.0). Disciplines appropriate to the program include, but are not limited to, physical, biological, medical, health, social, and computer sciences; engineering; and supporting disciplines.

The mission of the PhRMA Foundation is to support young scientists in disciplines important to the pharmaceutical industry by awarding them competitive research fellowships and grants at a critical decision point at the outset of their careers. The aim is to encourage young scientists who will be the leaders of tomorrow to pursue careers in research and education related to drug discovery.
The program aims at supporting promising students during their thesis research. The fellowship provides a stipend of $20,000 a year payable monthly for a minimum of one year and a maximum of two years. The scholarships are available to full-time students whose studies are in medicine, pharmacy, dentistry, veterinary medicine, pharmaceutics, pharmacology/toxicology.
