Dean's Office

A MESSAGE FROM THE DEAN

Welcome to the College of Health Professions and Biomedical Sciences.  The College prepares persons to serve in the professions of pharmacy, physical therapy, public health, and social work.  Students have opportunities to interact with students from other disciplines, both within the College and the University, with whom they practice when they enter their respective professions.  Students also have opportunities to participate in research projects with faculty who are committed to academic excellence.

The College has a very dedicated and talented faculty who are committed to providing all students with a high-quality academic experience and the use of state-of-the-art equipment and facilities.  Many members of the faculty have not only a national reputation but also an international reputation.  As an example, the pharmacy faculty rank 5th in the nation in National Institutes of Health (NIH) funded research per faculty member and 7th overall in total NIH funds received.

Our College faculty and students occupy the Skaggs Building and Jeannette Rankin Hall on the beautiful campus of The University of Montana.  With respect to off-campus training sites, our students are placed in many diverse learning environments in numerous rural training sites across the entire state of Montana.

This is an exciting time to be preparing to serve in one of the professional programs offered in the College.  We are blessed to be part of two general areas highly supported by our society–those being health care and higher education.  I am most proud that our College offers educational opportunities in a beautiful setting in Montana in world-class academic facilities which are staffed by faculty and staff who are committed to enhancing student learning.

Please browse through our school and departmental web pages to learn more about our College and the high-quality academic programs we offer.  Also, we are very pleased to meet with prospective students and their families in my office in Skaggs Building 344 or in the Office of Student Affairs in Skaggs Building 335.
